"Mr. Eric Elardo, a businessman, a family man and a person"
by: Toni de Villa

Life may be served in a silver platter for this man but wait 'till you see the genuine "his story."

For a while, I had to gather all the confidence I could get because meeting the feature man of the month isn't easy at all. So, I came to his office (earlier than expected) and the extraordinary simplicity of the place reflects that this man is opposite of what I thought. I would contest to the old cliché saying that first impressions last. Well, I don't think so. Mr. Eric Elardo is indeed a man with a humble nature and a kindred spirit.

Born and raised in Lucena City, Eric leads a simple yet exciting life. He engages in outdoor activities such as scuba diving, mountain climbing, rappelling and spelunking. But on top of these, tennis will be considered his first big love. Who wouldn't? He's been into it since his early years. So, don't be surprised if at your next stop in a tennis court, you'll come to see him. Apart from his hobbies, Eric is seriously focused on Banahaw Security Agency, a business that he inherited from his late father. As the owner and manager of the agency, Eric ensures that the thrust of the company, which is to widen horizon regarding security business particularly those who seek security for their company, is carried out. With an overwhelming number of clients, he must have been satisfied with the performance of his agency. But he later admitted that the maintenance of the proficiency of the agency is the key to appeal more clients.

No man can ever be this inspired and successful without his family. Yes. Eric is also a family man. Married for five years to Mrs. Nonna Elardo, with three wonderful kids, Salvatore Juliano, Sebastian Gabriel and Dominique Lois. For Eric, discounting the thought and presence of his family is impossible. No wonder when he said, "My family is my first priority and I give quality time to my wife and kids." After work or during weekends, they would go out of town, play computer games and teach tennis to his kids. Reconciling with his childlike ways when he's with his family heightens him to be more seriously driven to his feat.

It is factual when I say that the ride of life without bumpy roads will never be life at all. True enough when Eric shared how he dealt the nearing death of his son who was hit by dengue fever. They had to transfer to another hospital because of the aggravated situation. He held to hisprayers and asked God to give his son a second chance to live. And the Man upstairs did. Problems are inevitable. Taking it lightly and ignoring the hindrances are his ways in facing them. Above all, it takes a lot of patience and prayer.

Meeting the feature man of the month is quite a challenge at first but a comfort once you get to converse with him. Eric must have gotten everything in life, but he still wishes to have continued success and hopes not to fail the people he loves most. Afterwhich, I gave him the floor to say his message: "Thank you Karl for featuring me in you wonderful website. It's an honor and I'm privileged." Finally, I dropped my final question. "Aside from being simple and approachable, who is Mr. Eric Elardo?" I asked. "That's me, nothing more, nothing less," he concluded.
